Lively Limbs!
Amputee Support Group
Meet in a casual, relaxed atmosphere with others also facing the challenges of limb loss. Discuss the progression of rehabilitation prior to, and following your amputation with prosthetists, physical therapists and also those who have undergone amputation.
Family members, friends and caregivers are encouraged to attend! Lise has facilitated this group since its inception in 2002. She is passionate about supporting, educating, and empowering persons with limb loss to become their own best advocates. Lise is a certified peer visitor (CPV) trainer for the Amputee Coalition and coordinates peer to peer matches for new amputees. Currently, she also facilitates one of the weekly virtual support groups for the Amputee Coalition on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
The group meets in a relaxed, accepting environment to discuss the challenges and successes those with limb loss face. Guest speakers share information on amputation, prosthetics, and anything pertaining to learning to thrive with a disability. In addition to the monthly meetings, the group gathers for social activities, attends events in the community, and participates in research opportunities.
